BOOKISH | 5 Books I Want on the Coffee Table I Don’t Have

… maybe one day I’ll get a coffee table, just not today

books i want on the coffee table i don't have, sweater weather, hyggeinklings, #girlboss, the curated closet, pretty honest, pretty iconic, sali hughes, the little book of korean skin care

I prefer reading fiction than non-fiction books. I don’t have any specific reason but I have always been way more attracted to fiction. I also never really interested in what people call coffee-table books until very recently; by that, I meant about 12 hours ago. I was reading this post by The Anna Edit and she mentioned a few reads that caught my attention. After several hours of research – and by that I meant blog-hopping, looking for more beauty-related books, I end up with a list of books that I want on my coffee table.

1 Pretty Honest

Pretty Honest – Sali Hughes.
This book seems to be a favourite of so many beauty bloggers. Apparently, this book is packed with beauty tips & tricks. I’ve seen a few inside pages of the book and it seems like a great read. I have a feeling that once I get this book, it might be the one book I wish I bought when I first started using makeup.

2 Pretty Iconic

Pretty Iconic: A Personal Look at the Beauty Products that Changed the World
– Sali Hughes. Ever since I trap myself in the beauty world, holy grail products are something that I’m very interested in. I don’t think I have found many HG products for myself so I’m always searching for the next great products. Pretty Iconic talks about beauty products that have stood the test of time and became cult favourites over the years or even decades. I’m really interested to read what products made the list.

3 Girlboss

#GIRLBOSS – Sophia Amoruso. I think this is one of the most hyped books among millenials over the last year or so. I’ve been debating if I should get this book because I’ve been thinking a lot about what I really want to do now (oohh adulting) and people said that this book gives some good advice and perspective on things. I think I’m going to give in now and grab the book from the nearest bookstore. Also, it is now a TV show on Netflix.

4 THE CURATED CLOSET

The Curated Closet: A Simple System for Discovering Your Personal Style and Building Your Dream Wardrobe – Anuschka Rees. I have been really interested in capsule wardrobe and really want to try it out. I first came across this book while reading this post by, again, The Anna Edit. Can you tell that I read her blog a lot?  I then did some googling and read reviews and this book seems like a very helpful book for anyone who wants to start their own capsule wardrobe – definitely on my tbr list.

5 the little book of skin care
The Little Book of Skin Care: Korean Beauty Secrets for Healthy, Glowing Skin – Charlotte Cho.
I’m actually a KPop fan so I’m very aware at how advanced the Korean’s beauty industry is. I have to say that finding information on Korean skincare routine is not as easy as you may think. There’s very little information available online and that’s when I heard about this little book by Charlotte Cho, the founder of Soko GlamI plan to get this book and see if I can jump on the 10 steps skincare routine the Koreans do to get a glowy and radiant skin 😉
