Review

The Addicted and Calloway Sisters series is one of my favourite New Adult series. Though I have been waiting for this book, I had mixed feelings when it came out. I was excited to read, to find out how’s everything going for the gang, but then I’m not ready for this series to end.

I couldn’t wait to meet the kids of the gang. We’ve met Maximoff, Jane, and Sullivan in the previous books but we know that there are more and I want to know all about them. Have read their journey since college; it feels weird and wonderful seeing them becoming parents, especially the guys.

Connor and Rose

“We want our children to finish tasks, not take an easy way out”
                                                                                        – Connor Cobalt

There’s no denying that these couple are genius. You can’t beat these two especially if they are together. Their kids, as expected, are just as intellectual as these two. The way these two raised the kids is just how I expected it would be, tough love. For me, it was interesting to see how Connor becomes a father. I genuinely thought that while he loves his kids and may have changed certain perspective due to his kids, I never thought that he would be an affectionate father! Every time he comforts his children, I just melt because never I imagined Connor would be the way he is with his children. On the other hand, Rose is everything I imagined she would be. She can be affectionate but there are times when she knows she has to be tough with the kids.

Lily and Lo

“You can hate me for two days, Maximoff, but I’ll love you for a thousand more”
                                                                                                                            – Loren Hale

Lily and Lo is my favourite couple between the three couples. I don’t know why, maybe because we had the chance to see them beating their demons in the Addicted series and I got attached to them. You can see that among the three, these two are the most worried about parenting. They want to make the right decision for their children though it’s not always easy. You can tell that they don’t want their children to go down the road they went when they were younger. It saddens me that there are moments where they don’t give enough credits to themselves. I want to be there and yell at the two of them, “YOU GUYS ARE GREAT PARENTS. NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT!” (if I can yell when Loren Hale is standing in front of me). They are definitely the more relaxed parents compare to Connor and Rose, but we all know that would happen. Between Lil and Lo, Lily is definitely the more relaxed one. She never wants to punish her children even when Lo thinks that they should. And yes, Lily is still hilarious.

Ryke and Daisy

“Friends come and fucking go. Family is forever”
                                                        – Ryke Meadows

Ryke as a dad is just so lovable. I never thought he would be the most soft-hearted in the gang. I just can’t imagine the guy who says the word “fuck” about hundreds time in an hour or two, cannot say “no” to the kids. Though he becomes soft hearted around the children, that’s not the case so with the paparazzi or pretty much anyone else outside the gang. If anything he seems to be more protective than ever. Daisy is the same with Ryke. She has a harder time saying no to her kids. I feel like these two and their children live the most chill life compare to the other two. They always have fun and go on all these adventures.

We all know the girls know and understand love, but the guys had different experiences with it. To see them trying the best so that their children wouldn’t have to go through what they went through makes me smile. I also adore how the six of them never force their kids to be someone they are not. They let their children explore and find themselves. And I like how they manage to live as normal life as possible with the circumstance they are in.

By the way, though focusing on them navigating their way through parenting, the sex scenes are still hot as ever 😉

Now, I’m waiting for Damaged Like Us to come out. I want to know who these kids grow up to be and read them going through life. And yes, I want to see more Moffy.

This book is definitely the perfect ending to the series. I laughed, swooned, got anxious, got pissed off, was heartbroken, and cried while reading the book. It was an emotional roller coaster. Right now, I’m still feeling emotional over this book.

Never I thought I would be attached to this series. But I did and didn’t regret it. This series definitely has a special place and on top of my favourite series list. Thank you Krista and Becca Ritchie for the phenomenal series!

xo,

Naths
